Simon & Garfunkel waren das erfolgreichste Pop Duo der 60er. Dies liegt vor allem an ihrem #1 Album "Bridge Over Troubled Water", einem wahren Meisterwerk mit den Welt-Hits "The Boxer", "Cecilia", "El Condor Pasa" und natürlich dem Titelsong. Die 40th Anniversary Edition enthält ausser dem Original Album das bisher unveröffentlichte Album "Live 69" auf der CD2 mit 17 Songs, das einzige offizielle Album ihrer 69er Tour. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" war schon aufgenommen, aber noch nicht veröffentlicht, deswegen spielten sie bereits einige Songs daraus live - vor der VÖ!

Simon & Garfunkel forment le duo le plus célèbre des années 60. Une renommée qu'ils doivent surtout à leur album numéro 1 des charts "Bridge Over Troubled Water", un pur chef-d'œuvre qui a produit les tubes planétaires "The Boxer", "Cecilia", "El Condor Pasa" et bien sûr le morceau-titre. La 40th Anniversary Edition contient l'album original ainsi que l'album inédit à ce jour "Live 69" sur le CD2 avec 17 titres, le seul album officiel de la tournée de 1969. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" était déjà enregistré mais pas encore publié à ce moment-là, c'est pourquoi le duo interpréta en live quelques morceaux qui en étaient extraits avant même sa sortie!
