Wacken Open Air ist das größte Heavy Metal Festival der Welt und das zweitgröße Festival Deutschlands. Über 60.000 Fans pilgerten 2006 in das kleine Dorf in Schleswig Holstein um die Scorpions als Headliner des Festivals zu erleben.
Unter dem Titel "Live At Wacken Open Air 2006: A Night To Remember - A Journey Through Time" wird der einmalige und legendäre Auftritt der SCORPIONS auf dem W:O:A Anfang Dezember auf DVD veröffentlicht, bei dem sich die Band zusammen mit ihren früheren Mitstreitern Uli Jon Roth (Guitar), Michael Schenker (Guitar) und Herman Rarebell (drums) auf eine Zeitreise durch die eigene Bandgeschichte begeben hat.
Es wurde ein Klassiker nach dem anderen zelebriert, darunter Coming Home, Bad Boys Running Wild, The Zoo, Loving You Sunday Morning, Make It Real, Pictured Life, Speedy’s Coming, We’ll Burn The Sky, Love ’em or Leave ’em, Don’t Believe Her, Tease Me Please Me, Coast To Coast, Holiday, Lovedrive, Another Piece Of Meat, Blackout, No One Like You, Six String Sting, Big City Nights, Can’t Get Enough, Still Loving You, In Trance, Hurricane.
