Die in Mendoza geborene Pianistin und Schauspielerin ist Argentinierin italienischer
Herkunft. Sie beendete ihre musikalische Ausbildung an der Cuyo
Universität in Argentinien bei Juan Salomon mit Auszeichnung. Als Stipendiatin
der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung studierte sie an der Universität der
Künste Berlin bei Laszlo Simon und Georg Sava, und am „Mozarteum“ Salzburg
bei Alfons Kontarsky. Zahlreiche Meisterkurse hat sie außerdem bei
Hans Leygraf, György Sebök, Leon Fleisher, Maria Curcio, Paul Badura-Skoda
belegt und ließ sich in Jazz und Improvisation bei Walter Norris und in
Kompositionstechniken bei Witold Szalonek weiterbilden.
Entscheidend für ihr musikalisches Denken war die intensive Beschäftigung
mit der „Phänomenologie der Musik“ bei Sergiu Celibidache. Weiterhin hat
ihre langjährige Freundschaft mit Martha Argerich sowie der musikalische
Austausch mit Claudio Abbado und Daniel Barenboim ihre künstlerische
Entwicklung geprägt.
Cecilia Pillado ist Preisträgerin verschiedenster Wettbewerbe, u.a. des „Teresa
Carreño OAS Award“ in Caracas, Venezuela, und hat bereits in USA, Südamerika,
Europa und Asien konzertiert. Sie ist bereits in internationalen Konzertsälen
aufgetreten, z. B. in der Berliner Philharmonie und im Berliner
Konzerthaus, dem Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, der Mailänder Scala oder der
OAS Hall at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Sie arbeitete als Solistin u.a. mit dem Philharmonischen Orchester Buenos
Aires, den Münchner Symphonikern, der Anhaltinischen Philharmonie, dem
Orchestra di Padova, dem Orchestra del Lazio und der Filarmonia Veneta zusammen,
kammermusikalisch mit verschiedenen Kammermusikgruppen wie
dem italienischen Ensemble Novecento oder dem Philharmonischen Bläserquintett
Berlin.

She also has been invited to participate in numerous festivals, like "World
Music Festival Tabarka", Tunesia, "Asolo Musica", "Castelbrando Festival",
"Finestre sul Novecento" in Italy, "Baarn Musikfestival", Holland and "Latin
American Musiv Festival at the University of Southern California". She has
made radio and television recordings for the "RAI International", "Deutschland
Radio", "Radio Berlin-Brandenburg", "Deutsche Welle" and "The Voice of
America".
Her musical interests also include Avant-garde and Jazz and all these styles
are expressed through the prism of her talent and temperament, which come
alive both in her performances and original own compositions.
Besides a more traditional classical repertoire she performs music by Argentinian
composers. She is one of the first Argentinian pianists to give the music
of her country a central place in her performing activities. The complete piano
works of Alberto Ginastera, her arrangements for several compositions
by Astor Piazzolla and the outstanding arrangements of popular Argentinian
tangos, bear testimony to this.
Her incessant exploration of all facets of the Performing Arts led her into the
realm of acting. She completed advanced Camera Acting studies at the "Hollywood
Acting Workshops" in Los Angeles, California and the International
Film School Cologne, Germany. As an actress she participated in independent
theatre groups and played parts in German television series and films.
